About Us
This is a blog about a journey, a very long journey that I started in 2004. The story starts sometime after 2001 when the American economy started to slide.
I had enough money to investigate a lot of things. I lived in India, Thailand and the Philippines. I also traveled and tried to find work in several other countries.
I arranged all of my flights, hotels, and visa's personally and traveled alone. I acquired language skills and I taught English in my spare time. I scuba dived in almost all the best spots in Asia. I even played golf at over 7000 feet in the Himalayas. I bought real estate, made friends with people all over the world and I learned a lot about America too!

I have been remiss, not posting for awhile. I just returned from a deployment in Afghanistan and I didn’t feel it was appropriate to write anything, on line, during a deployment; “old school” thinking, for sure, because there are many blogs regarding the ongoing conflict. It’s a new way of getting first hand reporting, however [...]

It must be ano!
Language is a funny thing, we all speak the same one differently, and this is never as true as with English. Just the difference between British English and American English, is enough to make enemies of people in the same family. Canadian English is different from British English and Australian English is [...]

I was reading a blog last night, where someone said, “They wanted to move to the Philippines and open a bar; what do you think”? I was trying to post something there and found it impossible to figure out how to do it. But it sparked a good question that probably I should release what [...]

Here I am in Asia; I like it here pretty much. I realize it is different than America in a lot of ways and then I see things in the way people, in Asia, revere their countries— things, which made America great. After the shootings of this past weekend, in Arizona, I have been reading [...]

One subject overlooked, in travel logs, is casual hazards. When you travel around Asia it is not unusual to see foreigners in casts and bandages.
It’s a small wonder, when people, who aren’t accustomed to motorbikes, rent them. People will also act care free towards seemingly domesticated animals. I’m frightened of kittens wondering the streets; God [...]

One of my fascinations with Asia and life in generally is the beliefs of man. I studied some philosophy in college, yet it only wet my appetite for mystical revelations. There I said it! Ever since I discovered the Library of Dogma, in a Catholic High School Library, I have tried to ferret out how [...]

This is an abbreviated version of the books information. Most people who want to meet a girl, in Asia, ask how I met my wife. It is a story to tell and I have never been happier in my life.
I’m Caucasian and we have a way of trying to intellectualize love. In Asia love is [...]

The real world cost for me to live in Makati, the business district of Manila is as follows. First I bought a Condo in 2007 before it was built.
They call it pre-selling, which makes me crazy; I always ask, can you sell something— before you sell it. This is, however, the way things are done [...]

I have been doing a lot of research, on line; actually I have been trying to do some back linking.
The Internet is probably the largest source of misinformation that has ever existed. Misinformation has been around for a long time; even history is a lie because it is always written by the conquering horde. The [...]

There are so many little things to think about and every day brings another piece of enlightenment.
I don’t mean the kind of enlightenment where the clouds part, the sky opens up, a glorious chorus sings; finally you hear the gurus OM and know what it means. After living in India, let me just say, it [...]
